3 months Time frame

FlowFix provides 24/7 residential and commercial plumbing across a defined service area. Emergency callers choose from the local map pack and tap the first credible, mobile-fast option with a visible phone number. Planned job customers compare reviews, service area clarity, and quote paths differently, but both segments start on phone. When the site looks cluttered, hides click-to-call, or loads slowly, panic-click traffic bounces to competitors with cleaner profiles and faster landing pages.

Challenges & approach

Problem

Emergency plumbing is a speed-to-contact category. Searchers pick from Google Maps, Local Services Ads, or plumber near me results and call within seconds. Weak review placement, no sticky click-to-call, and slow mobile load lose burst-pipe jobs to competitors with stronger GBP profiles. Planned work enquiries also suffer when emergency and maintenance paths compete on one cluttered homepage without local service page support.

Solution

We rebuilt for emergency intent with sticky click-to-call above the fold, live Google review signals tied to the GBP, separate paths for emergency and planned work, and neighbourhood service pages for local SEO. Mobile load targets under three seconds, the threshold where panic-click traffic bounces to the next result.

What we focused on

Emergency call-first hierarchy

Sticky click-to-call and phone prominence sit above the fold on mobile where burst-pipe traffic lands. Emergency users need trust and one tap to call, not a marketing page that buries contact detail.

Separate planned work paths

Maintenance, installation, and commercial plumbing get distinct entry routes with appropriate enquiry actions. Splitting intent stops emergency CTAs from fighting quote requests on the same screen.

Local SEO service pages

Neighbourhood and service-specific pages support how people search for plumbers locally. Structure matches emergency and planned job queries FlowFix actually wants rather than one generic services list.

Review and trust signals

Verified reviews and service area proof appear before secondary marketing copy. Local Services and map pack evaluators scan social proof and coverage in seconds before choosing who to call.

Mobile performance priority

Layout and asset weight were tuned for sub-three-second mobile load because panic clicks happen on phones in stressful moments. The site behaves like a dispatch tool, not a brochure.

Process

We traced the emergency and planned-job journeys on mobile, then rebuilt homepage hierarchy, service pages, and local search structure before launch.

Discovery

We reviewed call logs and search terms to see where visitors dropped off. Emergency users need trust and one tap to call. Planned job visitors need service clarity and quote paths without competing buttons.

Customer and competitor research

Top-ranking local plumbers lead with reviews, service area, and phone-first CTAs. We aligned FlowFix to that pattern without copying cluttered layouts that slow mobile evaluation.

Information architecture and messaging

Emergency and planned work got separate entry paths with one primary action each. Service pages support local SEO for the job types FlowFix wants to win from search and GBP traffic.

UX design and conversion journey

Wireframes prioritised click-to-call, review placement, and scannable service lists. Forms for planned work capture postcode and job type so dispatch can respond with relevant context.

Search/local visibility foundations

Local landing pages, GBP-aligned NAP detail, and service headings target emergency and planned plumbing queries by area. Structure supports map pack and Local Services evaluation patterns.

Launch tracking optimisation

Call and form paths were set up for tracking by intent and source. Launch included measurement to compare emergency call volume against planned job enquiries after mobile speed improvements.

What this approach is designed to improve

1

Emergency call path

Phone and booking sit above the fold on mobile where burst-pipe traffic lands from local search.

Local

SEO service pages

Planned and emergency work each have pages that match how people search for plumbers in the service area.

Trust

Led hierarchy

Verified reviews and service area proof appear before secondary marketing copy on key landing pages.

Mobile

Speed priority

Layout and assets tuned for fast first paint because panic-click users bounce when load stalls.
