4 months Time frame

Satozim Logistics is an automotive dealership in Harare where shoppers search by make, budget, and body type, then evaluate trust signals, finance options, and enquiry friction before booking a test drive or WhatsApp contact. Dealership buyers compare inventory depth, pricing transparency, and how easy contact feels. When cars sit three clicks deep, vehicle detail pages lack structured specs, and enquiry forms route to an unowned inbox, shoppers bounce to competitors whose inventory appears in search.

Challenges & approach

Problem

Satozim's cars sat three clicks deep. VDPs lacked structured vehicle detail and enquiry forms routed to an unowned inbox. Shoppers bounced to competitors whose inventory appeared in search and offered one-tap contact from every vehicle page. Mobile load suffered from plugin bloat, slowing the inventory journey where most dealership research starts.

Solution

We rebuilt the inventory journey with make and budget filters first, live stock and featured deals above the fold, every vehicle on its own VDP with photos, specs, finance, and one enquiry action. Plugin bloat was cut to improve mobile Core Web Vitals. Enquiry routing assigned a named owner so leads did not sit unread.

What we focused on

Inventory-first homepage hierarchy

Live stock and featured deals sit above generic marketing copy. Shoppers reach searchable inventory from the first screen instead of buried menus that add three clicks to every vehicle view.

Structured vehicle detail pages

Every vehicle gets photos, specs, finance options, and one enquiry action. VDPs match how buyers evaluate trust and pricing before contacting the sales team or booking a test drive.

Make and budget filters

Search and filters match how shoppers browse by make, budget, and body type. Inventory discovery behaves like a sales tool, not a brochure that hides stock behind brand storytelling.

Named enquiry routing

Leads assign to a named contact so enquiries do not sit unread in a shared inbox. Sales responds with vehicle context because forms capture the VDP the shopper viewed.

Mobile speed and SEO structure

Plugin bloat was removed to improve mobile load. Vehicle pages got SEO structure so search traffic lands on a car, not a vague homepage that fails high-intent inventory queries.

Process

We rebuilt inventory discovery, vehicle detail pages, and the enquiry path as one system, then cut plugin bloat to improve mobile speed before launch.

Discovery

Sales shared where online leads died: buried inventory, generic homepage, and enquiry forms with no owner on the receiving end when shoppers submitted from mobile.

Customer and competitor research

Dealerships that convert online lead with searchable stock, structured VDPs, and one-tap contact. Satozim was benchmarked against that inventory-first standard in the local market.

Information architecture and messaging

Navigation prioritises inventory, finance, and contact. Homepage copy supports vehicle search intent rather than brand manifesto language that delays stock discovery.

UX design and conversion journey

Wireframes placed filters, featured stock, and enquiry actions on VDPs. WhatsApp and form paths capture vehicle ID so sales follows up with the right unit details.

Search/local visibility foundations

Vehicle page titles, structured data, and make-model URLs support inventory search queries. Pages help shoppers land directly on listings from organic search.

Launch tracking optimisation

Enquiries were tracked by vehicle, source, and contact method from launch. Reporting focused on online leads per VDP and mobile versus desktop completion rates.
